MUSI 206 - TECHNIQUE FOR SINGERS
An interactive introduction to the foundations of healthy and expressive singing. In-class group instruction, supplemented by limited one-on-one work, will enable the student to develop the basics of good vocal technique, which can be applied to all singing styles. Listening examples and discussion will explore the wide diversity of vocal sounds across the globe, with a special focus on the diverse sounds of American music. Students will select songs from the folk, musical theater, gospel, jazz, and popular music traditions.
